Bio

I was always interested in sports growing up. I was the big kid who hit his growth spurt before the others and enjoyed some early physical advantages in the school yard. But my early teens were hampered with a series of injuries which brought me in contact with the physio world. I was always intrigued by the workings of the human body and knew from early on that this was the career I wanted to pursue.

Gaelic football was my main sporting passion and a season with the Meath Minor team in 2012 culminating in All-Ireland final defeat gave me my first real taste for what elite training entailed. The strength & conditioning made a resounding impact on my athletic development at that age which piqued my interests further in that field.

I studied Physiotherapy in University College Dublin where I gained a wide range of experience in the different fields of physiotherapy around multiple hospitals and clinical groups. I also spent 6 weeks of placement working in an Integrative Medicine Clinic in Hawaii too to broaden my horizons further on a more holistic approach to patient care.

Upon graduating in 2016, I completed the graduate program in the Sports Surgery Clinic, which enabled further development in musculoskeletal assessment and diagnosis, post-operative rehab, clinical research and athletic rehab. The exposure I got here around the athletic rehab and performance physio made it clear which avenue I wanted to go down.

I started into private practice work here in Stamullen in 2017 and took over the practice (now rebranded The Physio Ward) in 2018. I have had great experience treating a vast array of conditions in this time period - from young children to elderly, pregnant women to nursing home patients and many great individuals from all walks of life. I have also worked as physio with the Meath Minor, Junior and Senior footballers.

I continue to train hard and play Gaelic football with my home club Wolfe Tones after having some stints around the Meath senior team. This is still a huge part of my identity and my pursuits to reach peak condition for my own sport certainly continue to add to my skill set and appreciation for dealing with other athletes in a professional setting.

In recent years, I have continued to develop my knowledge base around injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation as well as strength and conditioning and nutrition. As injury and pain can be so interlinked with the general spectrum of health, I want to be able to promote healthier habits to boost my clients’ physical health and get better long-term results.

I am also interested in working with clients beyond the injury/pain end of things, in a coaching capacity. Whether it be an athlete looking to improve performance in a given field, someone looking to improve body composition and get fitter/stronger/healthier or someone who’s new to exercise and wants to improve their level of preparedness for all challenges presented throughout the lifespan.
